Details description
Silicone BME-446 is a special designed silicone coating additive.
Silicone BME-446 can used in aqueous coatings, printing inks and overprint varnishes with strong reduction in surface tension resulting in significantly improved substrate wetting. No increase in surface slip. It can replace BYK-346.
Technical Data | |
Appearance | Transparent liquid |
Active matter content, % | 50 |
Chemical | Polyether siloxane in solvent |
Solvent | Dipropylene glycol monomethylether |
Application:
Silicone BME-446 can used in aqueous coatings, printing inks and overprint varnishes with strong reduction in surface tension resulting in significantly improved substrate wetting. At the same time the addition of Silicone BME-446 will not cause surface slip increase.
As supplied calculated on total formulation: 0.1-1.0%.
Silicone BME-446 may be added during any stage of prodcution, but is preferably added to the finished formulation.
Key Benefits:
1. Large decrease in surface tension in aqueous systems and therefore improves substrate wetting and leveling in particular.
2. Foam stabilization does not occur or only very minimally
3. Recoatability is not affected.
Storage information:
Product has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of delivery and under the condition, that it is stored in factory-packed containers and protected against extreme weather conditions, particularly against heat and cold. The optimum storage temperature is in between 5°C and 40°C.
